Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Helping children
thrive at their own rhythm

Every child is extraordinary. Our pediatric occupational therapists meet children right where they are — using play, curiosity, and warmth to help them grow into their fullest selves.

What is Pediatric Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy for children focuses on the activities that matter most in a child's life — playing, learning, growing, and connecting with the world around them.

A child's "occupation" is to explore, learn, and develop. When challenges related to sensory processing, motor skills, attention, or self-regulation get in the way of those natural occupations, our pediatric OTs step in — not to fix anything, but to build bridges between where your child is and where they want to go.

Every session at Ocean Tide Therapy is play-based, child-led, and family-centered. We work closely with parents and caregivers so that growth continues well beyond our clinic walls.

How we help children grow

Our evidence-based services are tailored to each child's unique profile, strengths, and family priorities.

Sensory Processing & Integration

We use structured, playful sensory experiences to help children interpret and respond to sensory input from touch, sound, movement, taste, and smell in a way that supports daily life and learning.

Fine Motor Skills

From gripping a crayon to fastening buttons, we build the hand strength, coordination, and dexterity children need for handwriting, self-care, scissors use, and classroom tasks.

Emotional Regulation & Self-Regulation

We teach children to recognize the signals their bodies send and respond to big emotions with curiosity rather than overwhelm — building lifelong skills for calm and resilience.

School Readiness & Academic Skills

We prepare children for the physical and cognitive demands of school: attention, pencil grip, scissor skills, visual-motor coordination, and the ability to sit and participate in a classroom.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Dressing, grooming, toileting, eating — the everyday self-care tasks that build independence. We work with children step by step so they feel proud and capable in their routines.

Social Skills & Play Development

We help children learn the subtle rhythms of social interaction — turn-taking, sharing, joint attention, and reading social cues — through guided, joyful play experiences.

A family-centered,
play-based approach

We believe parents and caregivers are the most powerful agents in a child's growth. That's why we don't just work with your child — we work with your whole family.
